Being successful and standing on your own feet is very important in life. We may not fully understand this during our school and college years, but when responsibilities come our way, we realize its true value.
Jab hum school mein hote hain, tab hum bas yeh wait karte hain ki college kab start hoga. Humein lagta hai college life matlab freedom, friends, movies, outings aur full enjoyment.
Sach bolun to college ka wait main bhi isi wajah se kar rahi thi. Mujhe yeh nahi lagta tha ki college ek step hai better career aur future ki taraf. Mujhe bas lagta tha ki school se zyada freedom milegi, ghoomne ka mauka milega aur life enjoy karenge.

I still remember my first day of college. I went to watch a movie straight from the college gate—I did not even go inside the college.
During my first year, I spent more time going out, watching movies, visiting parks, and lying to my family to go outside than studying. I had to come home by 7 or 8 PM, but I had no connection with studies at all.
In fact, for almost six months, I did not even know which teachers taught my subjects. I used to attend college regularly, but I would skip most of my classes.
One day, a teacher from my class asked me who my maths teacher was. Forget the name—I did not even know whether my maths teacher was a man or a woman
Us time lagta tha ki life bas enjoy karne ke liye hai.
Lekin jab first-year ka result aaya, tab meri reality ekdum saamne aa gayi.
Mere lagbhag 5 subjects mein reappear aa gayi thi.
Us moment aisa laga jaise kisi ne zor se thappad maar diya ho. Mujhmein ghar par batane ki himmat hi nahi thi.
Meri sister bhi us time college mein thi. Uska bhi first-year result aaya tha, aur woh saare subjects mein clear thi. Main khud ko usse compare nahi karna chahti thi, lekin andar se bahut bura lag raha tha.
Maine himmat karke apni sister ko bataya. Usne zyada kuch nahi kaha, bas chup ho gayi. Phir usne ek baat boli jo aaj bhi yaad hai:
“Tera career kya hoga? Life mein kuch karna bhi hai ya nahi?”
Uske baad woh baat karna band kar gayi.
At that time, I felt very hurt. But when I think about it today, I feel that maybe she was not wrong.

Us result ke baad maine bahut mehnat ki. Second year ke exams ke saath-saath first year ke reappear exams bhi diye. Dono ko ek saath manage kiya aur clear bhi kar liya.
Lekin us time bhi main life ko lekar itni serious nahi thi, jitni main pyar ko lekar serious ho chuki thi.
Woh phase easy nahi tha, lekin usne mujhe ek bahut important lesson diya:
Har time ka ek purpose hota hai.
Agar padhai ka time hai, to padhai ko seriously lena chahiye. Agar career banane ka time hai, to uske liye mehnat karni chahiye.
Hum college ko sirf complete karne ke liye nahi karna chaiye.
Agar aap bas degree lene ke liye college ja rahe ho, to shayad aapko ek degree mil jaaye. Lekin sirf naam ki degree ka kya fayda, jo ghar ki almari ke kisi kone mein padi rahe aur life mein kisi kaam na aaye?
It Is Important to Think Before Going to College After 12th Grade
Agar aap abhi 12th mein ho ya college start karne wale ho, to ek baar khud se zaroor poochna:
- Mujhe life mein kya karna hai?
- Mujhe kis field mein career banana hai?
- Main kis tarah ki life chahta/chahti hoon?
- Main apne parents ko kaise support karunga/karungi?
- College ke in teen saalon ko main kaise use karunga/karungi?
College mein enjoy karna galat nahi hai. Friends banana, movies dekhna, trips par jaana aur memories banana bhi important hai.
Lekin sirf enjoyment hi sab kuch nahi hota.
Agar aapko achha package chahiye, achha career chahiye aur financially independent banna hai, to aapko college ke time se hi focus karna padega.
College life is not just for fun it teaches independence and future-building ( My Father’s Hospital Bill Showed Me the Reality of Life )
Today, I went to the hospital for my father’s check-up. His health suddenly got worse, so we took him to the hospital.
After the check-up, the doctor prescribed another test. The bill for that test was ₹5,000.
At that moment, I did not have that much money with me.
It is not that I come from a very poor family or that we could not afford to pay the bill. But at that moment, I was not able to pay that amount by myself.
And I felt so angry with myself.
I kept thinking, “What am I even doing in life? I do not even have enough money to pay my father’s medical bill when he needs me.”
I felt like crying. There was no ego in asking my family, brother, or sister for money, but deep inside, I felt something strange.
I am the eldest child. I feel that it is my responsibility to be there for my family whenever they need me.
At that time, I shared with my friend, and they helped me. I am truly thankful to them. But that moment made me understand that financial independence is not only important for fulfilling our own wishes.
Financial independence is also important so that when our family needs us, we can stand by them without having to ask anyone else for help.
College life is not just for fun it teaches independence and future-building ( It’s Not Just About Going Out—You Need Money to Enjoy It Too )
College life mein ghoomna-phirna sabko pasand hota hai, mujhe bhi bahut pasand tha.
Lekin aaj samajh aata hai ki sirf ghoomne ka dream dekhna enough nahi hota. Ghoomne ke liye paise bhi chahiye, apne dreams poore karne ke liye bhi paise chahiye, aur parents ko ek comfortable life dene ke liye bhi paise chahiye.
Kisi ne mujhe kaha tha:
“Agar tumne college mein hi decide nahi kiya ki life mein kya karna hai, to college complete hone ke baad tumhare paas struggle ke alawa kuch nahi bachega.”
Ye baat thodi hard lag sakti hai, lekin sach hai.
Final Thought
Aaj agar aap college mein ho, to please apne teen saal sirf maze aur time pass mein waste mat karna.
Enjoy karo, memories banao, friends ke saath time spend karo. Lekin saath hi apne future ke liye bhi kaam karo.
Skills seekho, internships karo, apni field ko samjho aur apna goal decide karo.
Taaki kal jab aap piche mudkar dekho, to regret na ho ki aapne apni life ke important years sirf time pass mein nikaal diye.
Life mein apne pairon par khada hona sirf ek dream nahi, ek responsibility bhi hai.
